Well, I know I will have at least two strikes against me (that you are an historian and that you are a Southerner [mind you I was raised in Missouri]) when I suggest that one of the best reads ever found was Guns of the South and the ensuing alternative history series that ends around 1940 by Harry Turtledove. I guess we're a bit OT here so I'll just say give it a chance... and let it go at that.

You are right it is an LM7 Bed Laster, just like the one that I have in my shop .Great machine its nice to see it used by some of the better makers .It also looks like they use a pullover machine as well for the pre lasting .Tom Mattimore has the one that I used in my shop both machines go a great job.when used properly.
