The Crispin Colloquy is a function of The Honourable Cordwainers’ Company, a non-profit, educational organization of bespoke boot and shoe makers, and allied trades. As an adjunct of the Honourable Cordwainers’ Company, the mission of The Crispin Colloquy is to open lines of communication among makers from all over the world and from all walks of life, for the express purpose of preserving and expanding the knowledge base, sharing experiences and ideas, and of creating an archive of traditional techniques, resources and philosophies.
The Crispin Colloquy was created to address the needs and interests of serious students of the Trade as well as those more proficient members who can, and do, represent a reservoir of knowledge and skills and who can elucidate and pass to future generations a knowledge that is quickly being lost and/or diluted beyond recognition. The forum’s purpose is to collect and archive as well as to “preserve and protect“- the Guild motto. The forum is open to the public and all Trade related questions are encouraged...at every skill level. It should be remembered, however, that the focus of the Crispin Colloquy is, and will be, serious and professional considerations. While no restrictions will be imposed on subject matter, whether Traditional or contemporary, historical accuracy, technical rigor, and methods and philosophies that are rooted in the Trade will be encouraged and given precedence.
By posting here, prospective members grant to the Honourable Cordwainers’ Company a non-exclusive license to archive, copy, distribute, display, perform, or create derivative works from their posts, singularly or in combination with other posts to the Forum, for the full term of any copyright.

But, at risk of jeopardizing the tax-exempt status of the Guild, no prices may be quoted.
