Tom,

Thank you,The "on/off arm machine", is that like the old Bradbury sewing machine with the oscilating shuttle and sews a complete circle or something else?

Thanks

Janne,

I thought you will enjoy those boots and i can see why you missed your machine for sewing back straps on thick leather boots,Last time i made riding boots in thick veg tan,i end up hand sewing the back strap, but run it on a sewing machine without thread just to mark the holes equal distance,Not easy sewing back straps on boot shafts by hand, but it worked, but machine sewing strap on the butted seam on the field boots cut thin and flat sitting and very pleasing to the eye.

Cheers

No it is a Jan described. A long arm machine usualy with a roller foot that sews in line with the arm They were set up to sew either onto the arm or with the work on the arm and sewn off. I think the singer model was an 11, The last one I saw was in Miami for about 4 grand. I have never seen one since but hope to stumble across one in a barn someday.

They had three versions of this as I have found out, two were the on/off arm the third sewed in the conventional manner for buggy dashboards.

I had a friend try and send me that picture last week. My ankles are sweating looking at them.
