Marcel

You are a very generous man to make such an offer to HCC members and I will be pleased to help in any way I can.

Thanks Paul!

So everyone.. I got 4 applications until now.

First: I would like to ask if you apply, please write a few sentences about yourself, and why we should choose you. You know this is an application, and there are some people here to convince.. Image

Second: you still have 2 days to write those sentences and send me.

Third: if you don't intend to apply, but know someone, who wants - feel free to inform her/him.

Application closed.

I got 7 applications, what I will send to the committee soon. Thanks everyone who took time to apply. I got some nice stories, pictures and learn a lot more from you guys. If I could, I would invite you all. And now I am happy that I don't need to take all the responsibility to choose. Image That will be difficult.

Result comes soon!

And here is my present to all beginner shoemakers here: I put together a step by step guide with 276 pics for the simplest construction: the cemented one. I made these pics from a video I recorded for my students, but I think everyone will understand it perfectly.

Marcel,
I looked at your tutorial and clicked on every picture. A wonderful gift to student shoemakers and experienced makers who like to see how another shoemaker works.
Thank you!

Very welcome Georgene! Actually I never work this way, I just wanted to put together an easy method with minimal tool demand.
I appreciate your feedback even more because this is the only one from THEHCC. Thanks!

Marcell, I may want to print all those pictures out! A reference like that would be very helpful. I was mad that I didn't take good pictures in the class--so I started to forget some things! Thank you very much for taking the trouble to post this!

Marcell,

I was thinking the other day that you must be living in Bliss. It seems your every waking moment must be taken up with shoe making or something related to it.

After my clumsy efforts to post my "how I" on the Triad boot recently, I appreciate the work you put into your presentaions.

It is quite a reputation your building for yourself my friend.

Best Wishes,
Paul

Marcell:

Wow, what a (slightly delayed) Christmas present. I am very excited about the opportunity to meet you and to learn a small portion of what you know about shoemaking.

Your willingness to share your knowledge is wonderful and much appreciated.

Thank you so much,
Lance

Marcell
I am almost speechless. The chance to observe and be instructed by a master is almost beyond belief. Thank you and your judges very much. I will send you a private email tomorrow to work out the details.
Thanks again

Having just arrived back home from Budapest I wanted to drop a note here. A thank you to Marcell for generously sharing his knowledge and shop with me over March. Make no mistake Koronya is a tough shop and Marcell is demanding (yes I have overused this word to describe my time there but it is the best choice) but the talent there is exceptional. For those who those who choose to attend his apprenticeship in Hungary the learning opportunities are tremendous but not easy, be prepared. I will post photos as soon as my camera is recharged. Hopefully we will see Marcell return to this forum.

Thank you, I learned a lot, and can't wait to use it here in Canada. I stayed a month at Koronya, not long enough, but I hope to return.

By the way, did Jeff Richard make it back yet? I was hoping he would post some of his work from Koronya.
