Several of us have been discussing the idea of a comprehensive online business listing of those who make shoes and boots by hand in the US. A while ago, there was a regional website (newenglandshoemakers.org) that listed shoemakers past and present, and it was confined to New England. I got some business from that website, and I loved how simple and user-friendly it was. That website no longer exists, but I have made a new one that has the potential to include all makers of handmade footwear in the US:

www.handmadeshoemakers.org

Listing is free. If you would like to be listed, please contact me for details at daphneboard@gmail.com or visit the site directly.

Are you on my custom bootmaker list?

Hi All.

I am repairing my website and updating my bootmaker list have ...do I have the right info for your shop? Let me know what edits you'd like made. As you can see from some of the shops, I can add a link to your shop's facebook page. (Also, let me know if you are teaching bootmaking. I'm working on that page now.)

The list is alphabetically by State, then by shop name. You can find it at... http://dev4.artlung.com/custom-boots/cowboyboot-makers/ There is no cost to be on my list, but you must make a western pull-on boot and be willing to custom fit a last to a customer's measurements.

Folks outside of the US, your list is here: http://dev4.artlung.com/custom-boots/outside-us

If you want to share the page with others, it's easier to remember and use http://jenniferjune.com.

Thanks for time and consideration.

I wonder if you can help ?

One of our customers has picked up a pair of WW2 British despatch Rider boots. The leather is in surprisingly good condition but as you can imagine the stitching is rotted. We have put them together for display purposes but the client would like to wear them. Anyone able / know of someone able to take these apart and re-build them ? In the UK or close ?

Boots are similar to these:

Bongiorno everyone.

I'll be traveling in Sardinia (Sardegna) Italy this coming week and hoping to visit a shoemaker. Does anyone know of a shoemaker there?

I'll mainly be near the northern coast but will have a car.

Grazie Tutti!
