I'm going to be selling off a lot of my leather tooling - arthritis is taking its toll and the hands are not faring well. First to go will be a hand operated clicker - brand new, very nice unit. See it at the manufacturer's site, here
http://www.lucris.com/
You may email me at
kate underscore triplett at yahoo dot com for details, and I'll get some pics of the actual machine taken in the next day or so. I do not have any dies for this - never used it for anything other than hanging my hat on the handle!

I will pack very well for shipping - I have a lot of experience packing sewing machines, so know what iron requires.

Here is a link for a freanch auction on ebay.

I would never pay that much for tools (especially not for a set, shoch I jus need 2-3), but if someone doesn't have anything - I think it is a good price.

If anyone wants to see a Junker & Ruh machine in action have look at this short video I added to YouTube last night. I think shows the function of the machine pretty well for anyone interested. Here is the link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v7Euq4L34Fo

Picked up my Sutton/Landis 2000 finisher, but a few items had been removed and are long gone. The brush shaft is gone (the brushes were moved to the other shaft) and I would like to find another. It isn't a must have right now, and I don't really want to spend a great deal on it anyway, so.....

Does anyone know of a source for getting used parts?

Thanks,

John

Also, this is way more machine than I need(but the only one I could find in the area), so I would be interested in a smaller unit (S-500/600/750 size). If you know of someone that would be interested in trading, let me know. I would make sure the trade was fair.

I am in the Portland, Or. area.

Do a keyword search, here on the Forum, for "Pilgrim." He specializes in parts for shoe machines both old and new.

Hello All,

I have bought out the Big Sky Boot Shop in Henrietta, TX and have a few pieces of equipment that I would be willing to part with. I'll post photos if anyone has interest. I have a Landis "L" curved needle, a Pfaaf 463 flatbed machine, a Rodi 5-1, and a two belt grinder that came out of the Justin plant. It uses 3" belts of varying lengths. All of these machines are in fine order and ready to go to work.

Dear Fellow Crispins,

I have available some lasts to sell, and they are in fairly consistent size runs. I have some Jones & Vining 503 models, a good high-heeled women's boot last. I also have some J&V 865 models, which are nice chisel-toe men's dress shoe lasts. These will be a good bargain for somebody, and you may contact me via personal e-mail [boot_smith@hotmail.com] to receive photos and to discuss details (prices, sizes, &c.). I look forward to hearing from you, and remain,

Yr. Humble Srvnt.,

Brett Walker

Dear Knights of St. Crispin,

I have sold the Jones & Vining men's dress shoe lasts (503), but still have the women's 865 boot/shoe-boot lasts available (see photo, below). [I inadvertantly mislabeled these in my previous post.] Contact me via e-mail at boot_smith@hotmail.com if you are interested. I am,

To All,
I own a small business making orthopedic shoes, and I would like to sell it to the right person or persons. The equipment and inventory is extensive, and the right person would do well by me. Bob Elfrink and Lance Pryor have been to the shop, they know me, and they understand my reason for wanting to get out.
The business was started in 2001, just after I was layed off from my job at Reebok. I could have come back to Reebok soon enough, but wanted to try to go it on my own. The timing was good, in that there was Luizzi Orthopedic Footwear in Brockton closing down, and I acquired his business, and just about every piece of equipment I was missing to complete my shop, plus some.
About 4 years ago, Reebok was bought by Adidas, and immediately began to re build on the development side, and I was offered the position as a Senior Pattern Engineer, basically the job I held before, but now in a senior position. It was a tough decision to come back here full time, because I have a passion for the craft of making shoes. But here I make twice the money, my vacations are paid, they put money into my 401, and I have health insurance. And I actually enjoy working on new designs and prototypes. Not to mention if I miss a day with a bad cold or something, I still get paid.
Now the reality is that I cannot keep up with the schedule I have kept for these past 4 years. 70 hours week in and week out has left me somewhat burnt. The work is not getting out in a timely fashion from Noonans, and it's become too much.
This is where if any one in Forum wants to pick this business up, or then start too sell off items individually, I would want them to become aware that this opportunity is there.
Thanks,
PS: Reach me at tim.noonan@reebok.com during regular business hours.

Hi Tim,
Welcome to the Colloquy. Good to have you here and your obvious pattern making expertise will be much appreciated.

Post some pictures of the equipment, it's such a unique set of machines you have put together. I personally have not seen a collection like that anywhere before and on top of it they are in working order! Great opportunity for someone to get into the business and be set up really well from the start.

Rob

Thanks Rob...why don't you and a couple of others get together and take it over. Someone like you would be ideal in there, and then I'd still have a chance to help out here and there, or at least come in and have me own shoes repaired!
I'm am going to give this some time to try and sell intact, as that is really where the value is. For instance, if I sold the channeler, then the lip setter is useless. The customer list is a seperate negotiation. Not many people really know how to do this.
When you are in states next, please make an effert to get down for a visit.
Hope all is well in SA. Talk soon,
Tim

Dear Knights of St. Crispin,

Just a reminder that I still have the women's 865 boot/shoe-boot lasts available (see photo, below). [I inadvertantly mislabeled these in a previous post.] Since they have a spring joint, you could also use them for lower-quartered women's footwear. All in all, I think they would be versatile, and there are a whole bunch of them in the size run.

I would be amenable to negotiations, to a certain point. If interested in prices, terms, &c., please contact me via e-mail at boot_smith@hotmail.com

I look forward to hearing from you, and remain,
