JesseLee Cantrell - the last 18th century bootmaker - passed away peacefully at 12 pm January 29 in Hamilton Ontario.

He will be greatly missed.

Apropos to this discussion, here is a painting from the 15th century that clearly shows a heel (maybe even a stacked leather heel).
